The Martin Gale story by Stan Lynde

Stan Lynde writes about this story:
The second story of Latigo daily series, The Martin Gale story, finds Latigo working for Intermount Stage Lines as a shotgun messenger and brings him into direct conflict with his nefarious arch-enemy, Claudius Max.
It is a truism that villians are often more fun for authors and artists than are heroes, and I thoroughly enjoyed portraying the evil chief of Python Corporation. His Cynical outlook on life and the human condition, his iron-handed control of subordinates, and his monumental ego all made Claudius a joy to depict, and when he took the stage in a scene no one enjoyed him more than I did.
The final Scebe, in which he faces Latigo alone, without his henchmen and in a situation where his wealth can't help him, reveals him as pragmatic side. As Latigo observes, "You're a practical man, Cladius...it's one of your few virtues."
